No new coal!
Climate Camp Against Kingsnorth.
Energy company, e.on, are planning to build a massive new coal burning power station at Kingsnorth in Kent. If the government gives approval for this development it will produce as much CO2 as Ghana and skuttle any chances of reaching even the government's limited plans to cut carbon emissions and limit climate change. It could also give a disastrous green light for a whole new generation of coal fired power stations.

Porritt's pledge to support the rickshaws
Following his recent introduction to The Totnes Rickshaw Company, broadcaster Jonathon Porritt has confirmed his plans to endorse the community-run project.Ways With Words
BBC journalists, politicians, authors and artists arrived in style at Dartington’s Ways with Words festival courtesy of The Totnes Rickshaw Company.
Martin Bell, the author and one time television reporter-turned-politician, arrived at Totnes Railway station on Friday 11th July to headline the event. There to pick him up from the station was the latest in alternative Totnes’ environmentally friendly transport – a motorized rickshaw powered by locally used cooking oil.
