Tree planting weekend - volunteers needed!

Higher Druid is 22 beautiful acres of land above Ashburton consisting of 7 acres of mature mainly beech wood, 10 acres being planted to new native woodland under the Forestry Commission Woodland Creation Grant Scheme and 3 smaller fields that will be planted with a mixture of coppice and standard and woody shrubs for the future harvest of timber, fuel and non-timber forest products.

This workshop introduces The Work that Reconnects, a powerful set of tools to promote, individually and collectively, a life-affirming society. Profound and playful! A film of Joanna Macy's work will be followed by a discussion facilitated by her friend Pat Fleming.

Prior to a public talk on September 23rd by Joanna Macy, celebrated eco-philosopher and activist, this event is a first in a series of workshops to explore The Work That Reconnects, a programme of trainings to help us transform despair and apathy, in the face of overwhelming social and ecological crises, into constructive, collaborative action.

Many thousands of people around the world have been inspired and empowered by this programme developed over the past 40 years.
