Tree planting weekend - volunteers needed!
Higher Druid is 22 beautiful acres of land above Ashburton consisting of 7 acres of mature mainly beech wood, 10 acres being planted to new native woodland under the Forestry Commission Woodland Creation Grant Scheme and 3 smaller fields that will be planted with a mixture of coppice and standard and woody shrubs for the future harvest of timber, fuel and non-timber forest products.

It’s been a while since the last Heart & Soul Bulletin – a whole summer in fact. Revitalised by holidays, inspiring Transition events and the glorious September weather, the Heart & Soul busy bees are ready for a new season of cross-pollination of ideas and nourishing gatherings.
The Work that Reconnects
Submitted by Annie on 31 August 2009 - 1:13pm.This is the third in a series of workshops to introduce and explore The Work that Reconnects, a process created by Joanna Macy and friends some four decades ago and shared since by many thousands of people around the world. It combines insights from systems theory, deep ecology, eastern philosophy, psychology and other sources to support a shift in our hearts and minds, individually and collectively, to promote a life-affirming society.

Submitted by Annie on 29 August 2009 - 10:18am.Prior to a public talk on September 23rd by Joanna Macy, celebrated eco-philosopher and activist, this event is a first in a series of workshops to explore The Work That Reconnects, a programme of trainings to help us transform despair and apathy, in the face of overwhelming social and ecological crises, into constructive, collaborative action.
Many thousands of people around the world have been inspired and empowered by this programme developed over the past 40 years.
